On 26 October 2015 the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change issued a correction order and correction notice to make corrections to Tidal Lagoon (Swansea Bay) Development Consent Order 2015, as published on 9 June 2015.

The Secretary of State has granted development consent for this application. Please refer to the following decision documents:

Responses to the Request by the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Letter of 14 April 2015 have been published.

The Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change has issued a letter requesting comments from the Applicant, Natural Resources Wales (NRW), the Welsh Government (WG) and other interested parties on the application for the proposed Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay.

The Planning Inspectorate issued a report of recommendation to the Secretary of State on 10 March 2015. The Secretary of State has 3 months in which to issue a decision. The decision letter and report of recommendation will be published on this page of the website once a decision has been made.

Due to a technical error on the morning of Wednesday 13 August 2014, the website indicated that this project had been withdrawn momentarily, the Planning Inspectorate fixed this as soon as possible. The case has not been withdrawn and the examination continues. The Planning Inspectorate apologise for any inconvenience this caused.
