“A second line of pylons running through such a beautiful area would substantially damage its natural beauty, it would be bad for tourism and it would be bad for the farming community as it would reduce the amount of usable land when some are struggling with this already. It would also affect local house prices which are already low making some unsaleable. It would be much better to put these cables underground, although originally would cause more disruption to land it would be invisible after 3 or 4 years. This may be a slightly more expensive option but I'm sure the public would not complain about a few extra pence on their electricity bills.”
