The list below is a record of advice the Planning Inspectorate has provided in respect of the Planning Act 2008 process.
There is a statutory duty under section 51 of the Planning Act 2008 to record the advice that is given in relation to an application or a potential application and to make this publicly available. Advice we have provided is recorded below together with the name of the person or organisation who asked for the advice and the project it relates to. The privacy of any other personal information will be protected in accordance with our Information Charter which you should view before sending information to the Planning Inspectorate.

I would like to register to speak on Tuesday evening 17th March at Mark Village Hall. It would help me if I could use powerpoint slides. Secondly how long a speaking slot can I have? Ideally I would like to give a presentation on the key issues that would take about 20 minutes.

Thank you for your confirmation that you would like to speak at the Open Floor Hearing on Tuesday 17 March 2015.
Given the likely number of Interested Parties that may wish to speak at these sessions the Examining authority (ExA) do not consider it the most effective and/or expeditious use of time at a hearing for Interested Parties to provide Power Point presentations. You should therefore set out your views orally at the hearing, and then if required you will have an opportunity to submit a written summary of your representations in any Deadline 3 submissions to be submitted to the ExA no later than Wednesday 25 March 2015 (see the examination timetable in the ExA's letter of 29 January 2015).
Please note that in accordance with the DCLG Planning Act 2008 Guidance for the examination of applications for development consent (April 2013) the use of written representations will be the primary means by which the ExA will examine applications. You should therefore ensure that you submit your detailed case setting out the reasons why you support or oppose the application, and any visual evidence you wish to submit by the Deadline 2 submission date of Thursday 26 February 2015. The ExA considers that it will be appropriate for individual Interested Parties to be allowed a maximum of approximately 3-5 minutes for their oral submissions, with a group or organisation (such as yourself) allowed a maximum speaking time of approximately 15 minutes. These time limitations may be subject to some discretion by the ExA depending on the circumstances. Following your oral representation the ExA may also ask questions. Oral submissions should be based on representations previously made in writing by the particular participant. However, representations made at the hearing should not simply repeat matters previously covered in a written submission, but rather provide further detail, explanation and evidential corroboration to help inform the ExA.
Further information on the procedure for these particular Open Floor Hearings will be set out in the agenda to be published on our website no later than five working days before the hearings.
