The list below is a record of advice the Planning Inspectorate has provided in respect of the Planning Act 2008 process.
There is a statutory duty under section 51 of the Planning Act 2008 to record the advice that is given in relation to an application or a potential application and to make this publicly available. Advice we have provided is recorded below together with the name of the person or organisation who asked for the advice and the project it relates to. The privacy of any other personal information will be protected in accordance with our Information Charter which you should view before sending information to the Planning Inspectorate.
Note that after a project page has been created for a particular application, any advice provided that relates to it will also be published under the ‘s51 advice’ tab on the relevant project page.

I am currently working on a project in Barrow-in-Furness and specifically looking at information that will be needed to inform the Habitats Regulations Assessment screening exercise. As part of this assessment I need to look at relevant plans and projects in the area and, therefore, was wondering if you could please provide me with any PINs projects (or plans) that are in/around/near to this area? I have looked on your website to see if I could find the information there but couldn’t see anything.
Advice given
The National Infrastructure pages of the planning portal website have a list of all projects which the Planning Inspectorate are engaged in. There is a scrollable map which you can use to identify projects in the vicinity of yours: attachment 1.
The majority of projects will also have HRA information included within their application documents, which will contain details of their own screening excercises. You can find these using the filter function within the Documents tab of each project page.
