Rail Central (Strategic Rail Freight Interchange)

Received 23 December 2018
From Heather Hudson

I grew up in Blisworth and grew to love the surrounding area. Whilst the M1 and a rail line pass through or near the area neither spoil the beauty of my village. During my early years the A43 still passed through the village and the traffic was a dangerous and toxic part of life. Since the bypass has been built the village has become what it should be; a quiet and peaceful corner of our land. Building this monstrosity will make the bypass pointless as the village atmosphere will be ruined as great swathes of beautiful land are covered in concrete and tarmac.

I am 45 now and, whilst I no longer live in Blisworth, my parents still do and my heart bleeds for them and the planned destruction of their home. If this construction was needed and there was a truly valid reason for it I might be able to accept it, but it strikes me as completely unnecessary and will exist solely for the purpose of making money.

"When the last tree is cut down, the last fish eaten and the last stream poisoned, you will realize that you cannot eat money." This construction will take us one huge step closer to this realisation.

Please, block the application of something that will greatly diminish the lives of the people who live in the area.
