Rail Central (Strategic Rail Freight Interchange)

Received 11 December 2018
From Tim Knights

DIRFT (Daventry) already serves this area, and is expanding. It is connected to the same motorway and rail routes as the Ashfield proposal.

The West Coast Main Line is already full. Additional trains from the proposed site would mean existing freight and passenger services would suffer detrimentally.

It is a needless intrusion into open countryside and farmland.

The trunk roads in the area, A45, A5, A43, M1 are already congested too often with existing level of traffic.
