Northampton Gateway Rail Freight Interchange

I am an interested party in this project on the basis that Northampton Gateway represents a threat to the successful development of DIRFT. DIRFT has growth plans for the next 20 years and has a whole new settlement being built beside it (Houston). The workforce will be right there, minimising their travel requirements, the base rail link is there and could and should be extended - it represents one stop for the freight trains which use the same main and loop line as the proposed site. Logic and fulfilment of the government's ambition of modal shift to rail freight would favour maximising DIRFT, not dividing its rail supply route.

I am an interested party because I want to support DIRFT, and Northampton Gateway would result in it being suboptimal when it comes to the rail connection.
