What happens next
15/08/2023 - Deadline for Planning Inspectorate to submit recommendation
The Examination closed on 15 May 2023. There will now be a period of three months for the Examining Authority to write its report and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State will then have three months in which to make a decision.

The Report on the Implications for European Sites (RIES) (PDF, 597KB) has been published. All parties are welcome to comment by Deadline 8, Friday 28 April 2023. The Examining Authority (ExA) would welcome responses to the questions posed to Environment Agency, Natural England and the Applicant.
The Schedule of ExA’s recommended amendments to the Applicant’s draft Development Consent Order (DCO) (PDF, 236KB) has also been published. All parties are welcome to comment by Deadline 8, Friday 28 April 2023.

The Examining Authority has used its discretion to accept revised versions of the Applicant’s Report to Inform Habitats Regulations Assessment as Additional Submissions.

The time reserved for Issue Specific Hearing 5 (ISH5) on Wednesday 29 March 2023 is no longer required and has therefore been cancelled.
